As we begin the new academic year, may I take this opportunity to wish you all a happy and fruitful new year. A very warm welcome to those joining the Hillcrest family for the first time.

We sincerely hope and trust that together, the year 2020 will be positively different in many respects as it is not just any new year but the start of a new decade. We should strive to do things differently and better in the new decade. Therefore, let us all hit the ground running.

Staff: We welcome Miss J. Mutsaka (ECD), Mrs Muhala (Grade 3M) and Miss B. Rusawo (Front Office).

Please take note of the following items of information:-

1. School hours
Lessons begin at 7:30am sharp to 12:30pm for E.C.D, Grade 1 and 2. Grade 3 to 7 finish at 12:45pm. All pupils to arrive at school by 7:15am. Afternoon activities end at 4.40pm- Mondays to Thursdays and they start tomorrow, Wednesday 15 January 2020.

2. Meet the teacher in class
E.C.D, Grade 1 and 2 parents are requested to meet the class teachers in their classrooms this Friday the 17th of January at 11:30am. Grade 3 to 7 will meet their teachers next week on Friday the 24th of January at 12:30pm.

3. Sport
Please ensure that your child is properly equipped with suitable sportswear and kit. This must be clearly marked.

4. Uniforms
Summer uniform- open neck short-sleeved white shirts and blue shorts for boys and dresses for girls. Number ones (blazers and longs) are worn on Mondays only for assembly. All personal items to be clearly labelled with embroidered name tags.

5. Book covering
Plain khaki with pretty pictures, plastic cover and computerized labels as per teacher’s instructions.

6. Communication
Please keep regular communication with your class teacher and school office. Should you have any query or need assistance do not hesitate to contact the school.
